HUFS International Studies Society (HISS) is a club that is made for the students who are willing to explore various international issues. Founded in 2016, it has provided students with an opportunity to broaden their perspective on the international society through activities such as discussions and presentations on different issues including international security, economy, development, and environment.

 

In the regular session held every Thursday, we spare time to have an introductory presentation of the topic that can range from economic development to territorial disputes. By having an active group discussion on the subject, we share diverging views regarding several agenda, thus acquiring a wider perspective on such issues. The research conducted in groups will be presented at the end of the semester, which will help you become more familiar with international studies as well as DIS classes.

 

Moreover, other activities will include mentoring of alumni seniors, special lectures, seminars, and participation in extracurricular activities.

 

HISS는 HUFS International Studies Society의 약자로 한국외국어대학교 국제학회를 의미합니다. 2016년도에 설립되어 안보, 경제, 개발 및 환경 등 다양한 국제 이슈들을 주제로 토론, 발표와 같은 활동들을 통해 국제 사회에 대한 안목을 넓힐 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다.

 

매주 목요일 열리는 정기 세션에서는 해당 세션 주제와 관련된 강의를 듣거나 이주의 이슈에 대해 다 같이 토론하는 시간도 가져보고 또한 조별로 나뉘어 관심있는 주제에 대해 탐구해보는 활동을 진행합니다. 한 학기 동안 조별로 조사한 내용을 학기말 열리는 학술제에서 발표하게 되며, 이 과정을 통해 국제학은 물론 국제학부 수업에 더욱 익숙해질 수 있습니다.

 

그 외 활동으로는 동문 선배 멘토링, 특강이나 대외활동 및 세미나 참여와 같이 학술적인 활동도 진행할 예정입니다.

 

국제 사회에 대한 이해가 많이 요구되는 요즘, HISS에서의 활동 및 다른 학회원들과의 교류를 통해 세계를 바라보는 안목을 넓혀 보세요. 학생분들의 많은 관심과 참여 바랍니다!
